The Field to release new album

Sweden’s The Field aka Axel Willner will be releasing a new album out on Kompakt on May 25th titled, ‘Yesterday & Today’.

Willner released his critically acclaimed debut album "From Here We Go Sublime" in 2007. A magnificent ambient opus that managed to marry electronica, ambient soundscapes and techno music perfectly.

Kompakt has officially described it as, “more organic than its predecessor”. Not much of a description? Nonetheless, Willner has the electronic community in alot of excitement with the additional announcement that he has also managed to rope in one of the most innovative drummers in the world right now for percussion duties, Battles’ John Stanier. This should be an intriguing listen to say the least.

In between making this new album Willner also managed to spin off impressive remixes for Thom Yorke, Battles and Maps ,touring the US and Europe extensively.
