The exceptional and extravagant glasses of German brand Cazal first became famous during the ‘80s when legendary hip hop legends Run DMC, MC Hammer and the Fat Boys began to sport them. In honor of the May 2009 re-release of the Cazal 951, we’ve rounded up the most sought-after models for your viewing pleasure. “Eyeglasses are never just about seeing, they are also about revealing something about your inner self”, says Cazal’s chief designer Cari Zalloni.
Your frame of mind can be highlighted with the frame of the 951 (pictured above). Famous for being the very first pair of glasses designed by Zalloni in the ‘70s, the sports model boasts plastic edging that reflects the same color hue of the lenses. As the multi-colored models are only available in selected shops it might be a reason to get busy again this summer, while trying to obtain a pair.

MODEL 858
With blue-tinted lenses, inventive frame colorations and fans like MC Hammer, the asymmetrical 858 (pictured above) will do for any sunny situation. The wholly unique sunglasses are designed to complement and enhance the individual’s personality. Unfortunately this highly sought-after pair was only produced for the Japanese market. Maybe you can find them on your next trip to the Asian empire or online.

MODEL 607
The trendy and nerdtastic 607 (pictured above) impresses with its massive synthetic frame and golden details. Formerly worn by hip hop legends Run DMC, the frames come in black and transparent. Who knew square glasses could be so flattering?
If these three pairs aren’t for you, check out the broad range of eyewear on Cazal’s website. Their frames come in all different shapes and colors, so there’s something for everyone.
