To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, London’s Science Museum, in collaboration with UK arts organization Sound and Music, will be premiering a live arrangement of Brian Eno’s influential 1983 album “Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks”.
Live performance duties will be shared by one-time Luke Vibert collaborator and pedal steel extraordinaire BJ Cole, amplified 13-piece ensemble Icebreaker with rearrangements by young Korean composer Jun Lee. The recital will be accompanied by director Al Reinert’s original footage of the moon landing, projected onto the museum’s IMAX screen.
This thrilling event, which takes place July 20 and 21, coincides with the museums 100th anniversary.
