Sultans will mix with the British rock elite for during the conference and music festival Dubai Sound City, which takes place November 5-7 in the hot sun, air-conditioned sand and fragmented construction of the Persian Gulf’s most famous municipality. This is the first multi-day music festival to ever be held in Dubai.
A fine crop of established artists will be headlining Dubai Sound City, such as “pharmaceutical company” the Happy Mondays, electro old wavers Human League and Liverpuddlian downers Echo and The Bunnymen, along with promising new bands like The Courtneneers, EB favourites Wave Machines and We Have Band.
It appears as if the festival is experiencing no shortage of funding, booking over 1000 flights and snapping up 5000 hotel beds. We’re convinced it’s bankrolled by a deep-pocketed sultan with a secret obsession with skinny jeans and NME magazine.
We suggest Happy Mondays leave the drugs at home for this one.
