Superpitcher will finally release his sophomore album in May; Kilimanjaro.
How, when, where and why, we hear you ask? Well details were revealed via online magazine Self-Titled. Aksel Schaufler aka Superpitcher explained that the final push to create this anticipated album came about in the last eight to nine months, disclosing that the LP will have “a lot more live instruments…and singing”.
Micheal Mayer and Schaufler joined forces in 2007 as Supermayer to release their highly praised album Save The world, which spawned a genius remix of Rufus Wainwright’s “Tiergarten”. Schaufler also told Self-Titled that Supermayer would be going on indefinite hiatus for now.
Superpitcher’s first album Here Comes Love was released almost six years ago and since then he has filled his time up with other projects and remixes for artists such as M83 and Phantom/Ghost.
The first single “Rabbit In A Hurry” is released on March 5th on Kompakt, and the full album will be released on May 17th. You can watch a short live studio edit of the single here.
