This summer, Petrcane on the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia will again be transformed into a haven for the world’s finest electronic talent. The sea is tranquil, the atmosphere is electric, the site is beyond beautiful and of course the sun is shining; yet another proof that Croatia is the new Ibiza.
To start the season,The Garden Festival, now in its 5th year, has created quite possibly the biggest line-up they have had to date. As if by magic they have invited everyone from live acts Henrick Schwarz, Crazy P, Tensnake and 2020 Soundsystem to a line-up of DJ’s that is literally a who’s who of the electronic music world. Expect the likes of Daddy G of Massive Attack fame as well as wonder kid Floating Points, Berlin’s house maestro Dixon, edit legend Greg Wilson, Mr. Scruff and Metro Area and that’s just the beginning – the line-up really has to be seen to be believed. Split over two weekends, the Garden Festival could be your summer highlight and we haven’t even mentioned the infamous 4-hour boat parties under the sunset.
A second highlight of the Croatian season would be the infamous Electric Elephant Festival brought to you by the Electric Chair crew and The Unabombers. Electric Elephant is a truly Balearic affair mixing house, disco, twisted folk, techno, psyche rock, dubstep and well, quite frankly anything in-between. Live acts include The Phantom Band who were responsible for one of 2009 best albums, whilst the line-up of DJs includes Francois K performing a rare 3-hour Deep Space set, as well as the likes of Todd Terje, Andrew Weatherall, Juan MacLean, Ashley Beadle, Ramadanman and Chris Duckenfield. Elsewhere highlights include Elliot Eastwick’s World Famous Pubquiz, Late Night Cinema and a massage area.
The Croatian season also boasts festivals and weekenders from the like of the Southport Weekender crew and Soundwave Festival. That’s not to mention the T-Mobile INmusic Festival that has the likes of Massive Attack and LCD Soundsystem playing.
