Bass collective Magentic Man, made up of Benga, Artwork and Skream, have just announced details of their latest single ‘I Need Air’. Coming ahead of their yet to be named debut album, the release contains a vocal contribution from Alicia Keys collaborator Angela Hunte and marks a direction into slightly poppier waters, albeit waters infested with nasty sub bass, fierce beats and out of control percussion. The single is one of the most hyped bass releases of the moment for a group that recently found itself on the cover of the NME, of all places.
With Auto-tuned vocals and a definitive ‘rave’ feel, this is going to be falling into the love it or hate it camp, but is sure to be massive either way.
The trio has also announced a whole raft of summer dates that sees them play everywhere from Spain and Japan to erm, Leeds.
