We love our fans and nothing is sweeter than bringing the synthypop legends that is, The Human League. Respected as musical pioneers The Human League exploded into the ‘80s as one of the first synthesizer bands to reach mainstream success. The successful trio is made up of Philip Oakey, Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley. Still going strong the group will release their tenth studio album, Decades on October 10th of this year.
It was ten years ago on a trip to Ibiza that Telekom’s international music & lifestyle programme Electronic Beats was born. Since then, we have staged over 170 events with 180 different artists, created hugely successful print and DVD magazines as well as a unique music and lifestyle website and online radio station. Therefore, we think it’s time to celebrate what we feel is a pretty impressive milestone.
As a thank you for your continued support, we are staging a mammoth birthday party at Berlin’s Radialsystem V on Thursday, November 4th. Headlining will be Róisín Murphy – who has a very special relationship with Electronic Beats. She performed with Moloko at some of our earliest events, and has played at our festivals in both Graz and Prague as a solo artist. For her first Electronic Beats show in Berlin, she will bring us her exclusive new stage show.
Róisín will be joined by Manchester’s Delphic, another band who have made an indelible impression with Electronic Beats and our fans with their heady mix of soaring synths and epic melodies. However, that is just for starters. We have some very, very special guests planned that we’ll be keeping secret until closer to the time.
Jumping in at the last second is mysterious Dane Bon Homme aka Tomas Høffding. Tomas is better known for his deep baselines and high pitch falsetto vocal work in the musical blender that is WhoMadeWho. We are proud to say the man in the bowling hat will present his first solo adventure at 10 Years Electronic Beats Festival Berlin.
Last but not least, this year also sees the 3 year birthday of Electronic Beats Radio. With over 150 DJ mixes and live sets from artists such as Modeselektor, Coldcut, Magda, Fever Ray and Caribou, we think we offer you a large collection of quality mixes, from the widest range of cutting edge music makers and stars of tomorrow.
