English producer and multi- instrumentalist Ben Westbeech has called on the help of some of music finest craftsmen to help out on his new album There’s More To Life Than This.
Not sure he’s totally correct, especially when you can round up, Henrik Schwarz, MJ Cole and Motor City Drum Ensemble, Boston house duo Soul Clap, Lovebirds aka Sebastian Döring and Georg Levin from Sonar Kollektiv for Westbeech’s new LP.
The album, which is a follow-up to 2007’s Welcome to The Best Year’s Of Your Life, will be released on the old-school American label Strictly Rhythm, who originally went into administration in 2002, but in 2006 with the help of British label Defected started up its engines again.
Westbeech started out in the Shy FX ‘Drum & Bass’ camp moving onto release his first single on Gilles Peterson label Brownswood Recordings.
His first single "Summer’s Loss" is rather quite great! A soulful tune with some thoughtful vocals, we hope there’s more of that, check it out:
Ben Westbeech will release his debut album There’s More To Life Than This in April, 2011
