Bristol-based Mark Stewart is a restless man. He wrote punk history with The Pop Group and amalgamated industrial and dub with his legendary On-U Sound outfit The Maffia. Some even say he invented the musical genre that would later become trip-hop. But more than everything else, Mark Stewart is someone who doesn’t forget that music first and foremost is a form of art, or, to be more precise: a political art format – and not a commercial product. His last album *Politics of Envy* came out in April, but today sees the release of Mark’s superb new single *‘Stereotype’* featuring Factory Floor & Keith Levene. Read our interview here.
