The index tattoo is a reference to Thelema, its central tenet being ’do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law’ – “which has worked well for me,” he explains. Also, he likes Current 93. Obviously. The second tattoo is a portion of art by Aleister Crowley, originally published in The Equinox around 1910. The cross is part of a work entitled *Diagram 39. The Serpent of Brass,* which represents both the serpent Nehushtan, also known as the Celestial Serpent of Wisdom, and the Tree of Life, stylized as a perforated Hierophant’s cross.
