On May 23, 2009 Cologne will be hosting the Electronic Beats Festival for the first time since 2006.

French synth-poppers Phoenix will headline the E-Werk stage in support of their fantastic new album “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix” while co-headliners Simian Mobile Disco will be playing new tunes (and of course old classics) from their forthcoming as-yet-unnamed album, which features a “blinder” – in James Ford’s word -- from Beth Ditto, who will also be rocking the festival with her much-loved electro-punk band Gossip. Swedish darling Fever Ray, aka the female half of The Knife, will present songs from her debut weirdo pop masterpiece while Canadian electro-soulsters Junior Boys do the same for their third album “Begone Dull Care”. And lastly, veteran party promoters Filthy Dukes will send the crowd into raptures with their brand of energetic synth-pop.
