Electronic Beats Festival Vienna

After the football EURO 2008 has drawn our attention to Austria, it is time for the next big event, the Electronic Beats Festival in Vienna. At this point, date and location have been set.

Get ready for the Festival on October 18, 2008 at Museumsquartier Vienna. The artists to spoil your ears and get you on your feet are:

The 2008 Electronic Beats Festival series will once again provide a night of memorable live music in Vienna, which will host the Festival in the Museumsquartier for the fourth consecutive year. Crowds will experience the unique ensemble of Gorillaz Sound System including a 360-degree visual show from 20 projectors along with four DJs and an MC. The Gorillaz is a virtual band created in 1998 by Damon Albarn of the British band Blur and renowned cartoonist James Hewlett. Their first album released in 2001 sold more than 7 million copies and generated a global following. This special Soundsystem performance will feature the Gorillaz electronica, pop and dub tracks along with hip hop and house classics.

Also topping the line-up is British hip hopper Tricky who is known for his energising and captivating performances and The Whitest Boy Alive, a band initiated by Erlend Øye of Kings of Convenience fame. Berlin-based Booka Shade who released their third album this past May to critical acclaim will surely have the audience on their feet. Their electro-house beats are well-known on the dance floors throughout the world while their famous energy filled shows never fail to draw massive crowds. Swedish disco-house band Lo-Fi-Fnk will also add distinct flavour to the diverse line-up.
Tickets are now on sale for the advance purchase price of 24€, and will cost 28€ at the box office. They are available from many known ticket offices such as ticketonline.at or oeticket.at
