Philadelphian collective Vinylux recently thought of a useful way to recycle piles of unwanted vinyl. Some people collect records, other people simply throw them away, but Vinylux reuses vinyl to create lifestyle products and home accessories. So far they've recycled over 400,000 records over 5 years.

Vinylux’s product repertoire includes fruit bowls, record cuffs, snack trays, album cover note cards, coasters, picture frames, timekeepers and last but not least: 45rpm holiday ornaments. They’ll even create products out of your own personal collection if requested. (I’ll be sending them my precious “Xanadu” record shortly). Word’s to the wise: one’s persons garbage is another person’s treasure.
