Flying Lotus is a name becoming synonymous with a new breed of sonic experimentation. Taking his reference points musically from hip hop, cutting edge techno and an obvious love of dubstep, Flying Lotus has weaved a rich, sometimes unsettling fabric of sounds, textures and beats that slowly envelop you as you listen. For his debut release on Warp, his home city of Los Angeles was the main inspiration; a city where the gulf between those that have and those that do not have has been captured by nervous scratchy beats white noise and disembodied vocal snatches.
