Chris Cunningham, the director responsible for creating groundbreaking videos for Aphex Twin, Autechre and Björk, has announced details of an audio-visual concert to be performed in London, Brighton and Manchester over three dates in April.
Supported by members of the Warp stable old and new - LoneLady, Beak, Squarepusher and Jackson will all assist in providing musical accompaniment to the visual artist and, increasingly of late, music producer. Consisting of original and remixed music plus dramatic visuals, the show promises to include some "very special material". However what that material might be or even what the show is called remains a mystery.
In related news as Cunningham becomes more involved with music, past collaborator Björk is getting more involved in film - the Icelandic perfomer has revealed she is working on an new 3D film project with Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director Michel Gondry.
Gondry, who has also produced seven music videos for Björk, said to The Playlist; "We have a very ambitious project, a sort of scientific musical, but maybe more for museums. Like a 40 minute IMAX project in 3D." You can read more of what he had say about the new project here.
Chris Cunningham's new live show will be performed in London as part of the Ether Festival - details can be found here.
