In September, Vienna will play host to Michael Jackson’s global farewell tribute at the sublime UNESCO world heritage site Schönbrunn Palace. The promoting company, World Awards Media, didn’t confirm the date, nor the appearance of any artists as of yet, but stated on their website: “Some of the world's leading artists will perform Michael's greatest hits live in Vienna in front of one of the most fascinating historical sites in Europe and celebrate the life of the 'King of Pop.'"
English fans were resentful, since the initial farewell tour was slated to happen in their country; one even stated: "If he likes castles, they could've done it anywhere in the UK. We've got them here, too.” He’s got a point. However, Vienna is better equipped to accommodate the masses - the palace is big enough to accommodate 85,000 fans – so perhaps the rest of Europe can make do with a real time video.
Tickets for the event go on sale August 20.
