This Saturday, on what would have been Michael Jackson’s 51st birthday, the city of London will host what looks to be the largest collective “Thriller” dance in history. The organizers have put out an open call to the King of Pop’s London fans, to assemble in Hyde Park at noon on August 29, to take part in a dance-a-thon inspired by the iconic 1983 music video.
The 14-minute-long mini-movie, which featured Jackson morphing into both a zombie and a werewolf, spawned a dozen copycats but was never bested. Urban Junkies London, an e-magazine for urban lifestyle and events, put together the event in an attempt to break the world record, which is currently held by a large number of Filipino inmates in orange jumpsuits.
