Laurie Anderson and Animal Collective are amongst the judges for YouTube's Play competition. Hosted by New York's Guggenheim museum, the event is described as “the world’s most inclusive biennial of creative online video”. Other judges in the competition include Requiem For A Dream director Darren Aronofsk and photographer Ryan McGinley.
Nearly 7000 videos have been submitted to the competition thus far onto the YouTube Play channel and over 2.6 million people have seen these videos. However, for budding film makes out there, there is still a chance to submit videos - the competition closes on the 31st of July.
The Jury will review a shortlist of 200 films, from which 20 of the best will be selected for the final stage of the competition. These will appear on YouTube's Play channel in September.
