Royal Mail launches album cover stamps

The Royal Mail, parent to the worldwide parcel and mail force, will soon launch a set of ten stamps that celebrate classic British album covers. Done in collaboration with the London based Studio Dempsey, the stamps depict iconic and beautiful albums by masterly designers and “explore some of the most potent graphic images of modern times, many of which have provided a visual soundtrack to people’s lives.”

The list of chosen covers include Pink Floyd’s The Division Bell, Coldplay’s A Rush Of Blood To The Head, The Clash’s London Calling, The Rolling StonesLet It Bleed, Primal Scream’s Screamadelica, Blur’s Parklife, New Order’s Power, Corruption and Lies, Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars by David Bowie, and Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells.

The unique set will be available on January 7, 2010.
