Due to be released on the 25th of January, a sneak preview of the latest Four Tet album has been released online. Hosted on Soundcloud, the 48 minute preview of There Is Love In You is obviously official, and considering that it was only made available on Sunday, the online preview has received a staggering number of listens - over 10 000.
Four Tet, is of course, just one man - Kieran Hebden. With Four Tet being active for over a decade now, this is the fifth album for Hebden under this moniker, and probably his most anticipated. As usual digitally manipulated melodies, sonic drones, rough bits and smooth sections are all patched together into a warm, enveloping electronic landscape, but as has become the norm on a fresh Four Tet release, these familiar elements are presented in a new and exciting way.
The online preview of There Is Love In You is available for this week only. After that, you will have to satisfy yourselves by buying a copy of the album. Which is exactly what I will be doing.
