The small town of Clackmannanshire, Glasgow, might have something to ‘rave’ about soon. A new kid on the block, Kid Adrift recently awoke to an avalanche of record label interest and personal phone calls from Elton John after his music found its way through the Internet.

Iain Campbell aka Kid Adrift, 22, found himself on the receiving end of a contract with Island records after industry website Record Of The Day labeled his emo/dubstep styled track ‘Red Green and Blue’ record of the year. Huge support then followed from several DJs on Britain’s premier radio station BBC Radio 1 and in November he signed to management company Big Life who also look after Klaxons and La Roux.

Elton John requested to meet the young lad after hearing his tracks but subsequently turned down a request to appear at one of John’s live shows. Campbell had this to say about all the interest - "How on earth did I get here?”

Expect a lot more hype and a debut LP within the next twelve months.
