Over the years, Bristolian trip-hop group Massive Attack has consistently raised the bar with their ominous style of dark pop. But few people remember just how poignant and timely their cover art and videos were and still are.

Since starting out over twenty years ago, the duo made up of Robert Del Naja and Grant Marshall has always led by example with their brilliant visuals and futuristic insight.

Their heartbreaking ‘Teardrop’ video from 1998 broke boundaries, their moving ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ video was shot in a single take and by far the most emotionally provocative in their repertoire and their stunning live show – as I can attest to – is something to behold.

Have a look at The Guardian’s complete run-down of cover art and videos over the years.
