WerkDiscs artist Lone aka Matt Cutler has announced details of his new label Magic Wire Recordings, with the first EP coming courtesy of the man himself.
His new EP is in quite a different direction to his previous material. I am already a huge Lone fan, however this new EP is a highly impressive set of productions, even by his standards.
'Pineapple Crush' hits us with old skool 4/4 808's and heavy rave stabs, all drenched in Lone's unique melodic style. This is music that will destroy a club, and is already being played by the likes of Glasgow's Lucky Me Crew, Kode9, TRG, GillesPeterson, Joy Orbison and Alexander Nut.
Flip to the B Side for 'Angel Brain' - a 130bpm rushed up house banger, again showing Lone's love for all things Detroit, London, warehouse and hardcore. Huge euphoric stabs riding over pounding funky house percussion.
As I’ve already mentioned, musically you may be surprised when listening to this new EP from Lone but you most definitely won't be disappointed.
