Things get spooky at Legowelt’s Strange Life

Danny ‘Legowelt’ Wolfers will be extra busy this month, releasing three new albums by other artists on his own label Strange Life. Christian Gleinser, Polysick and Count Hemmendorff will all be putting out CD only releases.

The label, which started out in 2004, specializes in ominous electronic, maybe closer to the stuff Planet Mu or Warp was doing back in the 90s. So, the release schedule covers a good spread of Pan-European electronic music.

First up is Polysick with Meteo, who is a new artist from Rome, Italy, with some “crazy eccentric acid weirdness!” Christian Gleisner who hails from Friedrichshafen, Germany, tampering with some dark electro with his new LP Electric Winter, conjuring up images of long lost highways out in Bavaria.

And finally Count Hemmendorff with Audio Tour, a 26 year old Swedish upstart who not only creates weirdo electro free-jazz, but is also the inventor of Looklet.

How Danny ‘Legowelt’ Wolfers finds the time to manage his career as solo artist as well as label manager is beyond us, resembling the same busy lifestyle Paul ‘Scuba’ Rose has with his label Hotflush. It seems more and more DJ luminaries are doing things their own way these days. Check out all Strange Life releases here.
