iPhone Apps from DJ Donna Summer and Ghostly

Jason Forrest, better known as gut wobbling bass merchant DJ Donna Summer, and Ghostly International have both launched new music applications for the iPhone. Ghostly have created a nifty radio player, which streams songs to your iPhone from their vast back catalogue. Users pick which moods and styles they want to listen to, from Matthew Dear's future-pop to Osborne's robust house music.

DJ Donna Summer's application, Star6, is apparently the world’s first sample instrument (I think they forgot to mention “for the iPhone...”) and it uses six samples and a number of effects to allow you to create powerful glitchy and repetitive music. Using the iPhone's movement sensitivity, you can change pitch and adjust effects, just by moving the phone. Check out a surprisingly corporate looking video by Summer here:
