Diskokaine--The Radio Sessions - Electronic Beats On Air, 2009-06

Sometimes styles of music turn into the next big thing on the scene, virtually overnight. That is what happened to disco in the past few years, particularly Italo disco. But Wolfram Eckert aka marfloW was an early adopter: he discovered the style of music because his father listened to Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder and Art of Noise, among others.

A few years ago marfloW went to the electronic festival Moving Patterns in NYC and got in touch with some event promoters, who organized some DJing gigs him, so he could stay for half a year. After that he went back to Vienna and started his event Electro-Nix Gang Bang in several locations, including Club U. He invited his Big Apple mates Princess Superstar and Darshan Jesrani to come play, as well as Italo disco veteran Alexander Robotnik and electro-funk legend Arabian Prince aka Professor X.

At this point, Diskokaine had DJ´d in nearly every metropolis in the world, from Berlin to NYC, London to Warsaw, Chicago to Paris. Nowadays the Vienna/NYC based producer is running his own label Diskokaine, discovering upcoming artists like Swedish disco queen Sally Shapiro, and working with DJ Funk, Holy Ghost, Patrick Pulsinger and Moby.
