Extrawelt--The Radio Sessions - Electronic Beats On Air with Extrawelt, 2009-04

Extrawelt - also known as Midimiliz - was founded by Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Rabe, who are both from small towns in the vicinity of Hamburg. In 1992, the duo did their first ambient set as "Spiralkinda DJ Team" and in 1996 they produced the X-Dream smash hit "Relax Vortex" together with two other friends and gained international attention for the first time. In 1997 Wayan moved to Hamburg to learn sound engineering. Once again they played as Spiralkinda and opened the Voov Festival in front of more than 15000 guests in 1998.

In 1998, countless gigs and several studio collaborations later, they conquered some borrowed equipment and a Mac, which led to a severe addiction within a very short time. In 1999, Wayan returned to the party world and played the first live gigs with Arne, among others at the Millenium Party at the "Tokyo Big Site" in front of 12000 happy Japanese fans.

Many worldwide releases and live gigs followed, under various project names like "Midimiliz", "Spirallianz", "The Delta" and "Downhill" with Marcus Maichel – the way to 'Extrawelt'. Once arrived, they released the highly successful single "Soopertrack" and "Zu Fuß" on James Holden's label Border Community in May 2005 and in 2006 the "Titleheld" EP came out on Sven Väths Cocoon Recordings.

They've done remix work for Stephan Bodzin and Oliver Huntemann, Alexander Kowalski, Tocadisco and Minilogue and improved their live sets, which they played in the relevant clubs around the globe. The outcome of these live sets was the 2008 release "Schöne neue Extrawelt" on Cocoon.
