Who’s that girl?

Electronic singer/songwriter Gustav has been labelled the “Austrian version of Bjork”, more of less appropriately, although many music critics have not been able to describe her laptop whirring gracefully.

Based in Vienna, Gustav aka Eva Jantschitsch writes, produces and sings her own music. In addition to her own creations, she also lends her hand to movies (“Gangstergirls”) and theatre (“Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well”), sometimes in English, other times in French and German. The fact that hardly any label seems to match Gustav’s unique music and her voice’s power stems from the reality that her work is indescribable. But perhaps listening to her DJ set might give you a better idea of the enigma that is Gustav.
