Luca Bacchetti--Playing @ Cielo, NYC, 2008-11

Luca Bacchetti is one of the driving forces within today’s house and techno scene. In his early days Luca cut his teeth with a radio show on Club Culture, which gave him a notoriety that helped him play in clubs all over Italy. He found a niche for himself playing funked-up house and techno alongside his friend Antonio Pocai. His background of soul, hip hop and even drum & bass has given him the proper foundation to shape his own typical sound combining groovy heavy weight percussions sometimes with tongue-in-cheeks elements (check his "Night over Kwazulu"), sometimes with a sprinkle of darkness.

Since 2005 Luca has produced several successful 12"s. In 2006 he gained international attention with a stellar re-work of Bini & Martini’s "Stop" which was no. 1 in Beatport’s download charts and has been charted by many top djs around the globe. More and more remix and original work requests followed. Luca’s releases and remixes appeared on labels like Tenax, Safari Electronique, Sci+Tec, Meerestief, Supernature, Glueckskind, Saw, Viva Music, Tommy Boy, Ovum and Wagon Repair.

At present his records have a regular place in the cases of the likes of les messieurs Väth, Johnson, Black and Dear. In 2008 Luca Bacchetti was also nomineed for the Beatport Music Awards in the category "Best Minimal Artist" and the bunch of EP’s he released within the past year obtrudes to ask for a possible album in 2009.
