Oliver Koletzki entered the techno consciousness in 2005, after an extreme spate of luck saw his limited edition white label release "Mückenschwarm" land in Sven Väth's record bag. Väth promptly played it around the globe and saw people freaking out from Tokyo to Ibiza. Considering only 500 copies were pressed, this is particularly amazing. After the track's warm reception, Väth elected to release it on his label Cocoon Recordings, complimented by remixes from David K, Pig & Dan and Dominik Eulberg.
This might be regarded as kick-off for Oliver's career as a producer, but one should know that he has been producing music for nearly two decades. 12-year-old Oliver started producing breakdance and synth-pop on a Commodore C64 and began spinning records at the age of 18. After moving to Berlin to study music in 2000, Koletzki spent years moonlighting in small clubs and cocktail bars.
And then came the prompt change: Within weeks Oliver was booked internationally, he played huge festivals and got remix requests from the likes of Rockers Hi-Fi, Client and Cassius. Despite his rapid fire success, he stayed down-to-earth: "I've been making music for nearly 20 years now. Music helps me keep my feet to the ground and not to get crazy. I'm just continuing what I've been doing for years: producing music during the week and playing in clubs at the weekends."
The success of his debut single "Mückenschwarm" brought him a total new freedom: suddenly Koletzki had the means to launch his own music label, Stil vor Talent, offering a platform for newcomers and himself. Besides club hits like Format B's "Vivial Wheeler" or Channel X's "Bug in the Coffee EP" he even had a polarizing mainstream hit with Lützenkirchen's "3 Tage Wach".
