Roberto Rodriguez’ life is a story of decline and reconstruction. Having started as a club promoter in the ‘90s, Rodriguez was heavily repulsed by the sinking of his swimming club boat due to an accident. He lost almost everything and had to work as a garbage truck driver to make his living. Back then it didn’t look like his career would evolve in the music business, but Roberto took a chance.
He continued developing his production and DJing skills and since 2007 regularly releases on renowned labels like Plastic City, Ostwind and Compost Black Label. When Deep Dish Voted “F.B.I. – All I want” their best track of 2007, one thing led to another and soon heavyweights like Underground Resistance, Laurent Garnier, Timo Maas and Ame played his tracks and encouraged Rodriguez to continue on the path he had forged.
Now he’s established a unique sound both as Roberto Rodriguez and under his pseudonyms Future Beat Investigator, Track n Field and Acid Kings. He’s also remixed tracks from Jay Shepheard, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Tigerstripes, Shahrokh Sound of K. and Nicole Willis.
In this live set for Electronic Beats Radio, Rodriguez shows a personal production spectrum spanning percussive house, deep techno and extremely laid-back downtempo house.
