T.Raumschmiere--The Radio Sessions - Electronic Beats On Air, 2009-01

T.Raumschmiere is the electro-punk project of Shitkatapult label founder Marco Haas. Known for his "Knarz" style of techno, saturated with small noises, crackles and glitches, Haas began his solo electronic career after moving to Berlin in the '90s.

Previously a drummer in the hardcore band Zorn (translation: anger) and the rock band Stormbow, Haas settled down with dirty, utilitarian techno in 1998 and hasn't looked back since, although he did start singing -- rather, shouting -- on 2005’s "Blitzkrieg Pop" and now tours and records with a full live band.

Haas refers to Knarz as "the sound you hear at the end of a record when the needle rests in an endless loop." While we admit that doesn’t sound very appealing, legions of fans and labels like Novamute, Kompakt and Hefty would beg to differ. In fact, T.Raumschmiere was voted "Best Live Act" and Shitkatapult "Best Label" in several top 10 reader's polls.

Since the first 12" releases in 2000, T.Raumschmiere has racked up six albums, numerous EPs and dozens of remixes. In 2008, Haas released the album "I Tank U", which features friends such as Deichkind, Puppetmastaz, Warren Suicide, Gene Serene and The Crack Whore Society. Also notable are last years singles "E" and "Animal Territory/Brenner".

In between all the studio work, Haas brings his band's frenetic live show to fans all over the world, from Japan to Mexico and everywhere in between.
