Punk music, teaching and music production have all been integral parts of John MacLean's life. The Rhode Island native, who made his first steps in the music business with his dance-punk band "Six Finger Satellite", first taught English in New Hampshire before fully committing himself to his true passion: electronic music.
James Murphy, better known for his work as "LCD Soundsystem", had worked as an audio engineer for MacLean's punk band and played a major part in luring his buddy back into making music, moving to New York City and founding "The Juan MacLean".
Composed of MacLean and LCD Soundsystem keyboardist Nancy Wang, the group is known for releasing everything from technoid electro tracks to straightforward electro pop songs. Debut album "Less Than Human" made a splash when it was released on DFA/Astralwerks in 2005, and upcoming album "The Future Will Come" is poised to do the same. But until then, please enjoy The Juan MacLean's exclusive mix for EB Radio.
