Borrowed Identity is the perfect moniker for the eclectic DJ and producer whose musical tastes are deep and wide-reaching.

The enigmatic artist was raised in Germany by Romanian parents and his earliest musical encounters were with Romanian folk music. By the age of ten, he had become obsessed with hip-hop and started making his own beats when he was 13. When Borrowed Identity turned 18, he decided to dedicate his life to music and has been pursuing it ever since.

Inspired by the likes of Larry Heard, Robert Hood and Moodymann, Borrowed Identity has made his name by blending house, techno and disco into his engaging sets. He’s played some of the world’s finest venues including Panorama Bar, Concrete and Fabric. As a producer, Borrowed Identity has released on labels that include Mistress Recordings, Quintessentials, Home Taping and the Berghain imprint Ostgut Ton.
