Clara Moto

in , Mix of the Day by EB Team about

The second album by Clara Moto, released earlier this month on Agoria’s InFiné label, is named Blue Distance. It’s a reference to the closing line of Sylvia Plath’s poem Years, but coming from the Austrian techno producer it doesn’t seem quite as pretentious as it might first appear on the one-sheet. In fact, it’s an intriguing decision; as the poem rails against stasis, so too do Moto’s itchy, kinetic, and sometimes curiously melancholic, productions. This Mix of the Day demonstrates Moto’s confident vision, mixing distinctly UK-bred takes on 4/4 including Laszlo Dancehall (the collaboration between Leon Vynehall and Christian Piers), Perc Trax’s Manni Dee and Pangaea with tracks by Berlin innovators Nick Höppner and Soundstream. Compelling stuff for those who like their house and techno to look forward. Want more Moto? Check out a Slices interview with Clara Moto here.

Manni Dee – “Surface Tensions”
Laszlo Dancehall – “Manley Harrison”
G Strings – “The Land of Dreams”
Dusky – “Truth Capital T”
Head High – “Keep On Talking”
Soundstream – ”Love Jam”
Pangaea – “Mission Creep”
Nick Höppner – “Red Hook Soil”
Clara Moto – “Disposable Darling”
