Electronic Beats Recommends Tour with Caribou - Prague 2010

The Lucerna Music Bar was the setting last night for another instalment of our current Electronic Beats Recommends Tour.

Featuring an all star line-up of Caribou, Matt Didemus (of Junior Boys) and local favourite DJ TVYKS, expectation was running high in Prague. Right on time the venue opened and expectant music fans began to fill the space, enjoying the bumping music and refreshing themselves before the first highlight of the evening - Caribou.

Striding on to a stage that was bristling with drums, synthesisers and all manner of strange looking boxes, the band got straight down to business. Powering through their set with little or no break between songs, they presented tweaked and modified versions of 'Kaili' and 'Found Out' from the album Swim. Psychedelic yet dancey, Caribou's set flowed perfectlyfrom start to finish. With punishing sound and twitching strobes Caribou reached the crescendo of their set with stunning versions of 'Odessa' and 'Sun' as an encore to a rapturous crowd.

With Caribou’s set over it was time for DJ Tvyks to take care of a short changeover. Taking the energy of Caribou’s show and working the audience into some serious dance-floor grooves, he got everyone in the mood for the evening's next highlight - a Junior Boys DJ set.

Matt Didemus was soon behind the decks decks and got straight down to business, playing everything from up to the minute house, to disco classics - all from vinyl. He proved that he's not just accomplished electro pop star but also a DJ who knows how to make people dance. Sleek and sexy electronic music, with some very special twists radiated form the speakers, with the crowd dancing as if it was not a working day the next day.

Then it was back to DJ Tvyks who rounded off the night in fine stlyle, picking up the baton from Didemus and playing music for the crowd into the early morning.

What a night. Lights up, time to go home and put our heads back together after an amazing night of music. Next stop; Budapest, Zagreb Vienna and Frankfurt. See you there!
