Eristoff Tracks Urban Art Forms 2010 presented by Electronic Beats

It took some time for the summer to arrive in Austria. Eventually it landed right in time to make this years Urban Art Forms Festival in Wiesen/Burgenland a fantastic day of music, party people and sunshine.

Every year the UAF team comes up with a new visual concept. This year, the 'sonic cubes' dominated the festival. Big white cubes, massive LED walls placed all over the stage and a huge waterwall in front of the DJ were used for projections, including a 20 minute performance by cube dancers and two giant robots shooting laser lights and smoke into the air.

Speaking of the music, there was one rather confusing headliner this year. French mainstream house producer David Guetta was the reason for a very packed VIP area on Friday. But the regular crowd seemed to like his chart-oriented DJ set as well, so the criticism beforehand was not really justified. Boys Noize had the job of electrifying the audience afterwards, which he did well of course. Armand van Helden also played a very neat set, showing what he has contributed to the electronic music scene over the last couple decades. The Red Bull stage right at the camping site hosted a pair of Austrian artists of which Clara Moto was one.

Saturday was the day things really kicked off. John B, who also compiled part two of this years UAF official Klangbilder DVD, took over the drum'n'bass stage with one of his epic sets, combining trance elements and 80’s classics with D&B. Respect.

The main stage was getting crowded rather early with Carl Craig having an afternoon time slot. Sven Väth was the next highlight before Hamburg natives Moonbootica sent the crowd go completely crazy with their anthems 'June' and 'Der Mond'. As soon as they finsihed, Stephan Bodzin took over and kept everyone dancing until the birds were tweeting outside.

For those who never can get enough, the traditional UAF after party took place on Sunday in Vienna's legendary Prater Sauna, hosted by Sebastien Leger and Moguai. A sunny afternoon and a pool - what could be better to close down Austria's leading electronic music festival..?

Thanks UAF, it was amazing! See you in 2011.
