Slovenian industrialists Laibach have been booked as the first foreign band to perform in North Korea. According to the BBC, despite the band’s habit of wearing military uniforms in the ’80s and ’90s (inciting accusations of fascism), its members have lined up two concerts in Pyongyang next month, which are expected to draw audiences of 2,000 people. Their setlist will include hits from the past three decades, plus some North Korean folk songs. Laibach’s shows coincide with the 70th anniversary of North Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule, and will apparently be filmed for a 2016 documentary.
