Party In The UK To Help A Great Photographer

Here’s a chance for your partying to positively affect someone’s life.

You might not know Shaun Bloodworth, but you probably know his work. He’s a UK-based photographer whose distinct photos of artists—like Flying lotus, Jackmaster, Redshape and just about every modern luminary from the Sheffield underground—are all over the internet.

Unfortunately, Bloodworth has found himself in dire straits due to health issues. He’s currently in a hospital waiting for a liver transplant and dealing with other major complications. Obviously this is pretty bad, but an organization called Friends of Shaun have gotten together to host a fundraising night to raise money to help ease the burden of hospital costs.

The event will be held on September 1 at The Forum on Devonshire Street in Sheffield. According to the press release, “there will be dancing, laughing and boozing. Pete McKee, The Black Dog, Chris Smith, Pipes, Winston, Kid Acne and Pho-Ku Sound System will be spinning tunes. There will also be a raffle, with prizes from Warp Records, The Black Dog, CPU Records and loads more.”

Then on September 15, a series of events will be held in London put on by Mary Anne Hobbs, Bleep.com, Boiler Room, RinseFM and GiveUpArt.
