Over the summer, Ninja Tune’s Strictly Kev AKA DJ Food lent his talents to a live theatre, music, and film rendering of The Empire Strikes Back with Secret Cinema. The project wrapped over the weekend, and he’s created a Star Wars spin-off mix and video for posterity. In his own words, The Tracks Go Off In This Direction “follows the hunt for the Droids as songs and styles from the SW canon get progressively more random.”

As FACT reports, the 30-minute mix features “Ska Wars” by The Specials’ trombonist Rico Rodriguez, a “Star Warts” 45 from Dickie Goodman, and a couple cuts from modular synth specialist Dr. Patrick Gleeson’s analog Star Wars album, plus hip-hop and dance music from DJ Shadow, AGT Rave Cru and more.
