Last year, Godflesh—the Birmingham industrial metal band fronted by G.C. Green and Justin Broadrick—released A World Lit Only by Fire, their first album in 13 years. Broadrick has kept active as JK Flesh and various extreme-music partnerships (Napalm Death, Techno Animal, Jesu), but Godflesh has also reignited its touring schedule since reforming in 2010. Before the band took the stage in Greenpoint, Brooklyn earlier this month, industrial techno pioneer and Downwards label head Regis—also a Birmingham ambassador—played an opening set.
