Moji Taali, who seems to be the CEO of Berlin-based WiFi hotspot provider DeMiFi, has compiled the voices of Iranian music into an hour-long mix embedded above. The words are clipped from music produced by female singers and musicians such as Marjan Farsad (pictured in our cover photo but not the SoundCloud embed Taali uploaded) and arranged to overturn sexist norms that forbid women from singing unless they are accompanying a male vocalist. This selection turns the tables, Taali says, because the songs only have female singers with men playing along.
