We’ve watched the melding of our beloved techno with harsher genres like industrial and metal become way more of a “thing” in the last years, and by gum does it make us happy. With the upcoming Atonal Festival looming and blackened electronics purveyors Shaddah Tuum opening for Sunn O))) this weekend, our tinnitus has already started sending RSVPs to our brain. Of course, another harsh drop in the bucket is welcome, which is why Gainstage’s upcoming EP on Berlin’s Portals Editions is much anticipated. They destroyed us at their recent show with Pharmakon, and now the duo are set to drop their debut LP this Friday. As these album previews indicate, this is a serious contender for ear-wrecker of the year.
