Darling Farah
Abu Dhabi Underground
Born in Detroit, Kamau Baaqi was destined to take his hometown’s music to the world. Relocating to Abu Dhabi at an early age, the city was never meant to be the best feeding ground for the thriving teenager: live music is forbidden in public. Nevertheless as a teenager Darling Farah became a vital figure in developing the city’s underground music scene: Being almost isolated from Western music a comparably small circle of people crafted their own unique sound, playing at underground parties and finally making use of the Internet to send their blueprint to the world. Now, at the age of 19 Darling Farah has release a four track EP called Exxy, bringing “deep techno and future house with warmth and soul” to the masses. In times of increasing globalization, a more than interesting sonic approach is easily worth yet another relocation: Darling Farah will soon be calling London home.
