DawnRock

His name describes exactly how and when he likes to spin records. When the flash point is near and the dancefloor is smoking, DawnRock is in his element. When time arrives, he no longer wants to stop, always seeking to conjure up “that special moment” on the dance floor. Still, he doesn’t like to put a name or a tag on the music he plays, since his selection strongly depends on the occasion. But if pushed, Dawnrock will point to a description made by a listener of his radio show, elektronikZOO; "troubled urban bubble house”

Hamid was born 1977 in Teheran/Iran and moved together with his parents to Munich when he was 8 months old, the place where he still lives today.

In ‘93 he discovered a new world called techno, but even before then, music was already a massive part of his life. Hamid’s classmates were busy learning music theory from the classics, he was rapping over hip-hop mixtapes of his cousin and secretly moonwalking to Michael Jackson when his brother was out. In the following years, Hamid learned to kick his double bass drums and soon started heavy metal mix tapes, ending up thrashing out trash metal in his own band. DawnRock played drums for four years and visited various festivals to hear the dirty sounds of his idols, such as Anthrax, Metallica or Slayer.

With the time, techno parties and raves replaced the concerts and festivals since they allowed him to enjoy music all night long and to repeat the experience every weekend.
A couple years and a lot of parties went on until he started to play Techno
music himself, encouraged by the fact that he didn't encounter many occasions where he could listen to the style of music he liked. This sound was definitively more Frankfurt oriented unlike the sounds in his own city, which were more house and 2-step oriented in that period of time. Since then, not a week has past, where he isn't investigating the new releases…

In 2007, after many bookings from local and international Promoter's, he is happy to have joined the munich based Label Ilian Tape, former hometown music, run by Dario Zenker. Today, in 2008, DawnRock is currently working and shaping his own Productions besides his work as a DJ and for the radioshow.
