Following his contact book-draining Features album, the well connected German producer Kris Menace returned in November this year with a more conceptual piece, The Entirety of Matter. The entirely instrumental album saw each of its twelve songs accompanied by an animated video by Matt Divito, a motion GIF designer from Boston. Today’s exclusive Mix of the Day may not boast a visual element, but Menace’s taste for evocative synthscapes and driving beats makes this hour-long mix a potent one. We shouldn’t be surprised of course, ever since his debut record, the Ibiza-dominating “Discopolis”, those effervescent tones and starburst pads have become his calling card (we’re particularly fond of his wheeling “Blue Jeans” rework). This Mix of the Day is Menace on versatile form, mixing sun-kissed terrace fodder, otherworldly techno and, thanks to Menace using “Time” as a closer, sublime house music.
