Avicii Quits: Is EDM Finally Dead?
EDM has been proclaimed dead countless times. There even have been theories that it might be possible to “legitimize” EDM DJs if they would play vinyl—as though the medium were the same as the message. Now, we get the next step in the decay of the glowstick empire: Avicii, one of EDM’s most famous poster children, took to Facebook to post a big ol’ message about quitting. He’s done. It’s over. So there you go: RIP EDM, if you like.
