Dance your way through Kazakhstan’s hyper modern capital.

The Kazakhstani capital of Astana is not exactly known as a hub for electronic music. But that doesn’t stop it from being an incredible futuristic backdrop for a contemporary dance video set to the sounds of deep house. The city has only been the capital of Kazakhstan since 1997, and during that time has developed into one of the most modernized cities in Central Asia, attracting some of the world’s best architects to design its slick skyline and buildings.

This futuristic frontier of architecture is on full display in the video above, directed by Johannes Jelinek for Berlin film collective, Spingun. Contemporary Dancer Madina Beisekeyeva explores the cityscapes of her hometown—including the Pyramid of Peace and Reconciliation and the Bayterek tower—in the form of a beautiful vogue piece set to a track from deep house producer Mount & Palastic. Watch the piece in full above. You can find out more about Spingun Films via their website and Instagram.
