Club Architecture

The photos are hosted on Are.na, a decentralized social platform that you should probably check out.

The history of nightlife is littered with cool buildings. Since the birth of the discotheque in the late 1960s, the best venues in the world have often distinguished themselves by featuring top-notch design, interesting spaces and unique architecture.

Nowhere is that more apparent than in this incredible club architecture archive/moodboard that features well over 90 pictures that span the gamut from the classic to the contemporary. It lets you virtually walk through—and appreciate—the halls of such famous locales as Amsterdam’s Trouw and De School, Dallas’ Starck Club (designed by Phillipe Starck!) and Berlin’s Berghain.

The pictures are hosted on a public Are.na channel that you can find here. Are.na is worth exploring if you like this kind of content. It’s a kind of decentralized social platform that mixes bookmarking, productivity and community in a way that feels refreshing after spending time on sites like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
